About Nava

Sandy Shan is the artist behind Nava Art Studio, where intricate pattern, color, and storytelling come together in highly detailed mixed-media artwork.

Her work is inspired by the meditative quality of pattern-making and the idea that familiar subjects can be transformed through detail. From architecture and landmarks to portraits, faith-inspired pieces, and botanical forms, Sandy builds each work layer by layer using her signature ornamental patterns.

Her process often begins digitally, where she develops the composition and draws each pattern individually. Selected pieces are then printed on fine-art paper and hand-finished with watercolor and acrylic accents, creating a balance between precise linework and organic texture.

After years of creating privately and returning to art in different seasons of life, Nava Art Studio represents a more intentional chapter: a place to create distinctive work, explore new collections, and share art that invites people to look a little closer.
